In “The Dynamo and the Virgin,” Henry Adams reveals his struggles to understand the change in technology that have occurred over his lifetime.  Today, our technology seemingly changes on a daily basis, and we struggle to keep up with it.  In your response, which should have two parts, respond to these elements:

  1. Document from your reading of Adams the struggles that he has with the understanding the forces behind the new technology.  How does Adams attempt to cope with his struggles to educate himself on these new wonders?

  2. How is Henry Adams’ journey reflected in the videos that we viewed?  In what ways are the students in the video dealing with the same problems as Adams?
