Response Paper #4--If you have not submitted this, you must do so in class May 21.

Response Paper #5--No paper this week.  Your highest grade of the term will be doubled and worth 20%.  This allows for credit for improvement.

Response Paper #8--Read the first 63 pages of Ceremony and consider the following:  how much time actually elapses between the time we are introduced to Tayo on page 5 and the close of action on page 63.  Why is this use of time key to what Silko is trying to do in the novel?  How is it different from the other authors we have read?  Due by the final on June 18.

Response Paper #9 on the last part of Grapes of Wrath will be assigned as an in-class writing in the last hour of class this coming Wednesday--please bring your novel and paper and be prepared to write.
